Darcie Jo Adler was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 3rd, 1991. She is twenty years old and works part time at Ardene's.
Darcie doesn't really have a definite style, she mostly dresses for where she's going and what she's doing. At work she's supposed to look like a cool teenager so she usually dresses a bit more spastic for work, but most of the time she can be found in jeans and a t-shirt. If something special is going on she's capable of dressing up but the jean and t-shirt combo is her constant. She's also a fan of oversized shirts and sweaters. Being comfy and warm is way more important than being sexy.
She's got a few bumps and scrapes here and there, some scars from soccer and volleyball, but they're mostly on her knees and elbows. Darcie has one tattoo(and likely more to come) and it's a pokeball on the back of her neck.

Once she's out of bed, Darcie has a good deal of energy. She isn't exactly what I'd call 'bubbly', but she's usually pretty happy and smiley and skippy. She's an especially huge fan of the holidays so right about now she's going mental decorating her dorm room and wrapping presents for everyone she's ever met.

The girl is an undeniable nerd. She's almost never without her gameboy in case she has some time to spare to play some Pokemon. She watched all the episodes of the series when she was young and her bed back home is coated in pikachu sheets. She's been playing World of Warcraft since it came out and owns every console known to man from the first playstation to the Wii and xbox kinect. Darcie isn't ashamed of her game nerding, but she doesn't exactly broadcast it.

Darcie loves sharing her opinion, on anything! If you have a problem, she may not know the answer but she's perfectly happy to try and help the best she can and if you listen, all the better! From cheating boyfriends to exam stress, Darcie just loves to feel like she's contributing and pulling her weight in that way.

Growing up in a sports-oriented house surrounded by boys, Darcie grew up with a love of competing. She partook in various sports throughout her childhood and high school years but the ones she most stuck to were soccer and volleyball. When she's playing, Darcie's not afraid to elbow, kick, punch, clothesline, or maim in any other way if it means another point for her team. She's a vicious competitor to be against and an ace in the hole for her team mates.

Somehow people still trust Darcie with their secrets, even though she is a well known gossip. She tries so hard to hold it in but it's tough! Some secrets(being all secrets) are just too juicy to pass up! She follows the LCU gossip column like it's the word of God and believes every rumour she hears until it's proven fake.

This conflicts with her energetic side, but Darcie changes like the weather. if she's already up and about, she's quite springy and ready to go but if she's in bed or on the couch or sprawled out on her face on the floor, there's no prying her off the furniture unless you have a new video game for her to try.

Jo has no idea wtf she wants to do ever. In high school she went through a phase of wanting to be a photographer, an actor, a lounge singer, a boob-checker(mammography technician), a graphic designer, an inventor. She's taking courses now in directing as well as graphic design, but she's constantly struggling with which one she actually wants to follow through with. She's the same with everything in her life. She doesn't know where she wants to go for dinner, what shoes she wants to wear out, whether to read a book or watch TV.
Darcie was meant to be a boy. When her mother Maria was getting her first ultrasound, it looked as though she was pregnant with only one baby. Later on they learned their baby was a boy, so they named the baby after Mister Adler's brother, Darell Darcy Adler. But judging by Darcie's existence, clearly Darell wasn't the only baby in that womb. Darcie developed much slower than her brother Darell and when she was born, she was on schedule but a bit premature for her development. Despite that, after being poked and prodded and watched quite severely for a few days, the doctors handed her parents a perfectly healthy, if small, baby girl.
The twins would be the last born in their family, but they certainly weren't the first. They brought up the rear, coming in behind two fairly older brothers, one five and one seven at the time of Darell and Darcie's birth. The age differences would prove to shape the twins significantly and contribute a good deal to their development.
The family was very close, not just with their immediate family but with everyone. The whole clan would travel to Italy every year to have Christmas with Nana in a house that had been on Darcie's mother's side for four generations. Though the Brooklyn groups (consisting mostly of the Adlers and their close cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews) were a bit louder and wilder than the Italian Riccis or the Colorado Adlers, that group was definitely the tightest and they took it hardest when the eldest of the four Adler-Ricci children was deployed in Iraq and killed. Rather than clutching the rest of her kids closely to her, however, Maria began to urge them all to attend post-secondary institutions. Like a lioness, she understood that though one died, the rest lived and they had to live twice as hard for their fallen brother. Frankie stayed in New York and went into real estate and the twins ran off to San Francisco to attend Litton-Colwell university.
