i'm the new cancer never looked better and you can't stand it TAG: Elle NOTES: this is a bad starter and kinda god-mod but I love you.
Noah Goldstein was fairly certain he had chosen the worst place to work. Out of all the jobs he could have possibly gotten, he had landed this one. 'Library Aide'. What the hell even was that supposed to mean? Pathetic really, a fancy title for a shit job. Serving seven dollar cups of coffee to preppy goody-two shoes would have almost been a better alternative. The work was mundane. Shelve a few books, watch nerds stink up the place, the occasional couple making out in a corner -- seriously, what was that about? Boring. The junior could think of several things that would be a better use of his time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst of it. The librarian was truly insane, and he hated to call the batty old woman his boss. She had eyes like a constipated hawk and would practically claw him to death if he misplaced anything. Noah hated the old hag and made that clear. He was honestly surprised she hadn't fired him yet. A part of him really wished she would, but then again Noah kind of needed the money and as horrid as slaving away for minimum wage was, it at least got him a little bit of cash.
However, no matter how much he tried to remember that fact he still ended up miserable. Plunking the books aggressively onto a cart, Noah got the usual glare from the librarian. Oh god, he was making a little bit of noise and handling things 'roughly'. It made the boy want to slit the woman's throat with her own precious novels. Death by repeated paper cut. An appropriate way for her to go. Shaking his head to clear away those thoughts didn't help much, and Noah found himself distracted. But really, could you blame him? Slumping off towards the counter, Noah closed his eyes and wondered if anyone would really miss him if he went off to the one of the deserted aisles and took a nap. It would be more productive than what he was doing at the moment. Unfortunately, his ears picked up the sound of someone approaching and he reluctantly straightened up.
Smirking as the girl approached, the fact that people actually came to the librarian amused him. If Noah hadn't gotten a job there, he would have never set foot in the place. Of course, his marks in his classes probably reflected that opinion. His grades weren't the best in the world. Well, that was a bit of an understatement. But who wanted to focus on math equations when there were bigger and better things to do? No one, that's who. Anyone who was voluntarily at the library was immediately pegged an over-achieving teacher's pet by the junior. He wordlessly took the book she handed him, only smirking slightly at the subject before attempting to scan the code. That wasn't working out so well.
"Shit," Noah muttered under his breath. He had never been so great at the computer side of all this, which was pretty obvious at the moment. He tried again with no success. He wanted to throw the thing across the room at this point. "Screw it," he hissed, feeling his temper rising over something trivial. It was stupid, but it frustrated him. Most things did. "You're fresh out of luck," Noah said with a glowering look. This wasn't exactly how he had been instructed to talk to and assist his fellow students, but oh well. Noah wasn't all that familiar with following rules. "So I suggest you forget your precious little book and go find something better to do with your pathetic life than read about -- Pediatrics." He scoffed at the word as he took another fleeting glance at the cover of the book, even though most would find the medical field admirable. "Let nature take it's course and have the little bastard children die for all I care." Yes, he was a very caring person.

. { ❀ } . YOU'DFLYUPACROSSTHESKYJUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT NOW WOULDN'T YOU?• { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • Elle sighed as she made her way into the library. The entire establishment oozed a feel of hushed urgency. The head librarian had eyes like a hawk, and was almost more intimidating. Elle hated going to the library almost more than anything. It wasn’t that she disliked books, it had nothing to do with the books at all. She didn’t like having to tell the aide her name, and carry on a fake conversation for the sake of politeness. She tugged at the collar of her coat before she headed to the section she was looking for. Her textbook for her Pediatrics class had left gray areas that she needed to fill in. She tapped her bottom lip with her finger absently as she scanned the titles of the books in front of her. She was working on a paper that was worth a large portion of her grade. She knew that if she failed this, Elle would have no great prospects for her future in the field. Only the top students were admitted into good grad programs. Her parents had emphasized this over and over until they were blue in the face. She was past tired of hearing it.
Elle pulled out a thick volume from the stack in front of her. She scanned the cover and then forcibly relaxed her shoulders. She knew she was getting stressed over nothing, but she couldn’t help it. It was the first time she had ever been away from her large family. By the time you added in all of the responsibilities of university, Elle was fit to be tied. She bit her lip thoughtfully as she looked around the room. She knew she was forgetting something, but she couldn’t put a finger on what it was. She visibly shook it off, and then bounded over to the counter. She was so anxious to get out of here that she barely even looked at the aide before she thrust her book at him. She tapped her foot nervously and directed her attention everywhere but at the aide she had given her book to. A hot blush worked its way over her entire body as she started to squirm.
Ambrielle listened to his expletive with dismay. It could only mean that something was wrong. She finally looked up at him and held her breath. She open and closed her hands and fought to keep herself from reacting as she knew she would. “I need that book.” She insisted indignantly. She bit her lip again and looked at her shoes. “I’m sorry that you are so bored with your life that you need to take it out o-o-on m-m-me.”
Her stutter presented itself in full force. She took a deep breath and continued. “I have to have t-t-th-this book.” She could feel tears welling up in her eyes. She blinked furiously to keep them at bay. She dug her fingernails into her palms, fuming. She hated the power that other people held over her. She couldn’t even control her own reactions. “What are you doing that will be s-so much better than helping children?” She demanded. As soon as she heard the rest of what the boy had to say, Elle’s jaw dropped. She spluttered around for something, anything to say, but came up empty. “Why you!” She heaved for breath, unable to fathom what had made the boy so irritable. “You know what? I feel sorry for you.” She told him, letting a tear fall onto her cheek. Something awful must have happened to him in order to make him such a hardened cynic. Though she was outraged and hurt, she found herself wishing that she knew how to help him. Helping was something she found herself thinking about often. Her gaze found the Librarian, who was enthralled in her own computer screen. If Elle really wanted to, she could bring the Librarian over to chastise the aide. She felt a funny feeling in her stomach as she contemplated it. After a few prolonged seconds she decided against it. She didn’t want to bring trouble to this guy, even if he wasn’t exactly friendly. “Try it again!” She demanded insistently. i'm the new cancer never looked better and you can't stand it TAG: Elle NOTES: Noelle! xD
He supposed he should be focusing on his work, however boring it was, but Noah found his mind was easily distracted by the thoughts of dinner or what he was going to do that night. Seriously, books couldn't occupy his attention to study for a short time, let alone hours on end. The boy was not the most dedicated to his job, that was for sure. It wasn't like that was a big secret, either. He was pretty obvious about how much he detested it and it was wonder that batty old lady even kept him around. He was pretty sure there was some sort of pity mixed in to the equation. That and she had mumbled a bit of nonsense about Noah looking like her grandson... or maybe it had been granddaughter. He preferred to think the former. Either way, the old hawk kept him around and for that much he couldn't complain. It didn't make him hate things any less, though.
When things got really slow, the junior took to watching people. He didn't even recognize half of them, let alone know their names or any other similar useless information, but that was the beauty of it. He could observe and make up their personalities as he went. The nerd that always occupied the back corner table was a loner whose girlfriend was cheating on him, Noah imagined, and he came to drown his pathetic sorrows in textbooks. Crazy-eyes guy was a druggie. The two touchy feely girls that giggled way too much were secret lesbian lovers. Yes, his mind had some fun with that one. Looking up as someone else approached the counter, he continued the game. The brunette had an appearance of being overly sweet, like the annoying way, and being a bit innocent. She looked a little anxious as well, probably one of those weird 'the world scares me' sort of people. It was a god damn library, what was there to be so worried about? He grabbed the book silently and attempted to check it into the system, unsuccessfully.
"It's just a life or death matter, isn't it?" Noah said sarcastically, rolling his eyes at the urgency she seemed to feel. "Calm down, would you. Maybe if you weren't breathing down my neck it would work." He smirked, this wasn't the end of the world. If not being able to check out a book was that upsetting to her, he would hate to see how she could react to anything else. Talk about being over dramatic. Noah placed a hand over his mouth in fake shock as she attempted to insult him. She was going to have to do a little better than that to get to him, it barely even merited a response. "So becoming a doctor makes you a saint or something? You realize that half the prats only do it for the money and couldn't care less what happens," he said casually. Noah laughed quietly when all she could do was sputter 'why you!'. Seeing the tears forming in her eyes only encouraged him more. He liked seeing the effect he had on people.
"You feel sorry for me. How sweet," Noah said sarcastically. "The last thing I want is your sympathy, kid." The junior glanced at the girl, seeing the shiny track of a tear running down her cheek. Success, though it had almost been too easy. "If a stupid book gets you this upset, you won't survive two seconds in the real world," he told her. If only the damn computer would work she could be out of his hair and be someone else's problem. "Not everyone's a vision of sunshine and rainbows, and if I have to make you realize that, then so be it." Noah rather enjoyed tormenting people anyhow. He was getting frustrated that the stupid bar code thing wouldn't work for the book, but lashing out did help to quell that anger somewhat. It's not like he could hit a girl or anything, he might be bad but he wasn't that evil.

. { ❀ } . YOU'DFLYUPACROSSTHESKYJUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT NOW WOULDN'T YOU?• { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • Elle stiffened at Noah’s sarcastic tone. She frowned and bit her lip nervously. “I’m sorry,”
She apologized quickly, backing away from the desk slightly with her hands held up. She might have been a little bit over dramatic, but his whole manner was abrasive. Elle wasn’t used to people who seemed to enjoy cruelty. She wrung her hands and stared at the aide for a minute. Her heart hammered in her chest and she almost felt faint. She hated confrontations, and this was just another thing she didn’t need. “I do care,” She insisted. She was aware that most of the people who attended school for pediatrics didn’t have their hearts in it. It didn’t deter her any. She knew that she wanted to help kids. That was what would set her apart from all of the other doctors in the field. It was already apparent in her classes that she had what it took. “I never said I was a saint, th-though.”She stuttered lightly over the last word, trying her best to calm down. She could feel herself blushing even deeper. “Fine, I won’t give you any more,” She told him flatly. She was already growing tired of his game, whatever it was. She really just wanted to curl up with a cappuccino and the book that this guy refused to help her check out. She ran a hand through her hair and then wiped the stray tear, frustrated that she hadn’t been able to keep it together. She hated the control that other people had over her, it made her feel sick to her stomach. His comment about the real world sparked her anger again. “And what, pray tell, do you know of the real world?” She met his eyes defiantly. She listened to him go on about rainbows and sunshine before she snorted. “You think y-you have It bad?” She looked at him derisively. “You should see the people that we help in the shelter every d-day.” She sniffled. They made this guy look like a lightweight. “At least you’re here, g-getting an opporotunity f-for a-advancement!” She fumed. Most of the people she helped in the shelter would wet themselves if they were given a chance to attend LCU. Hell, they might wet themselves for a chance to be on the janitorial staff of LCU. She had seen people who had several mouths to feed, were unemployed, and no living relatives to help them. She shifted her bag on her shoulder and then approached the desk again. “If you’re s-so pitiful that you c-can’t get the book checked out, I’ll take it to someone else,” She told him, trying to sound brave. She knew that she had failed. The only thing she thought would be worse than standing here until he figured it out was having to talk to another person who might also put her through the wringer. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.” She covered her mouth. She knew she was beginning to babble, but she couldn’t help it. Her nerves were frayed, and she couldn’t control herself. “I didn’t mean it. I don’t think you’re pitiful,” Her eyes reflected the guilt that she felt. She hated it when people judged her, and so she didn’t like to judge people harshly either. She looked at the guy helping her anew, taking in everything about him. He was attractive physically, but from what she had seen of his personality there was much left to be desired. She wondered what had happened to him that had made him so hard and callous. She was sure that if he tried, he could read her expression to know what she was thinking about. She had always been told that her face was very expressive. She shook off her thoughts and focused her attention back on the book. “M-Maybe it’s just the book? Could we try a different one, maybe?” She asked, trying to be helpful. She had seen more than one book relating to the subject they were studying in her Pediatrics class. She was sure that any of the others would be just as useful. [/blockquote] [/blockquote] • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • WORDS! 689 TAGS! i'm the new cancer never looked better and you can't stand it TAG: Elle NOTES: it's 12:30 am and I'm not sure what I'm writing lol.
Noah only rolled his eyes at her apology, not really caring one way or another. Like he really gave a toss? Yeah right. Maybe if she had apologized for being an annoying pain in the ass it would be a different story, but he couldn't quite recall exactly what part in their conversation she was referring to. His words had gotten a bit heated and loud during the argument, making the librarian look his way sharply. Well, loud being above a whisper. He never understood that rule. If people wanted quiet, why didn't they go somewhere to be alone, not surrounded by a bunch of books and geeks. So what if he wanted to speak in an actually audible tone and not a hushed mumble? Getting distracted from the issue at hand -- which was, in Noah's opinion, the girl and not the book -- he returned his attention to her, or about as much of it as he could give at the moment. There were more pressing matters in his life than if some flouncy medical student was able to check out a textbook or not.
"That's what they all say," Noah snorted, finding her tone amusing. So she cared. He didn't. Not about her or her future career or her problems. He smirked at how defensive she was being. Then again, the junior had kind of been a jerk to her for really no reason in particular. No one was exempt from the boy's torments, it was nothing personal. He just really didn't like people, and she had given him the satisfaction of tears. It was like the girl wanted him to keep going. "You didn't have to say it." He looked up and gave her a smug expression. Noah didn't even know her and his judgements were most likely wrong, but by this point there was no changing his mind. In his mind she thought she was an untouchable saint and he didn't care if he was off.
The aide couldn't manage to wipe the smirk off of his face. Everything the girl was saying was just so ridiculous to him. With every word she spoke, his opinion of her -- which hadn't been all that high to begin with -- worsened. Practically every word that left her lips made him want to roll his eyes. He might not know the 'real world', but he doubted she knew it any better than he did, no matter how much she volunteered at where ever she was talking about. "The shelter," Noah mused, feigning concern by clutching his chest. "You're not helping the whole saint case any, you know that, right?" He let out a low laugh, she had to be kidding. Opportunities for advancement? Yeah, some homeless bum would probably love to work as a library aide. Full of himself, the junior looked down on pretty much everyone.
"Pitiful? Says the one having a panic attack over a fucking book," he scoffed, still trying to get the stupid thing to work. Taking it to someone else would be the best for him, it would make her another person's problem and not his own, but she dropped the idea almost as quickly as she had brought it up. The girl's attempts at an insult were funny if nothing else. It was such a pathetic attempt that it didn't even raise much anger from Noah, though he did slam the book down onto the counter rather aggressively. As she rambled on another apology, he couldn't help but laugh. Seriously, she couldn't even say that much without feeling guilty about it? "Trust me, that's nothing. I've been called a lot worse than pitiful." He had heard every name in the book, once from Evans and once from everyone else. Her words were like a slap on the wrist and he forget them almost immediately. He raised an eyebrow at the proposition, smirking slightly.
"Well then, aren't you a problem solver." Of course, out of the fifty billion books in the place she had to pick the one that wasn't registering with the system. Noah just wasn't having very good luck that day. He stepped out from around the counter, and waited for her to choose a different one. The sooner they could end this, the better.

YOU'DFLYUPACROSSTHESKYJUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT NOW WOULDN'T YOU?• { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • Elle was irritated when the boy rolled his eyes at her, but she brushed it off. She was learning that this boy was just generally as big of a jerk as he could be, without much provocation. She almost smiled when the librarian all but glowered at him. She felt gratified that maybe the aide wasn’t going to get away with treating her like this entirely. She just hoped that he didn’t get severely reprimanded. She made a mental note to make sure to check up on him, even if he wasn’t particularly pleasant. She was used to dealing with people who were hard to get along with. She had siblings. In fact, she had so many siblings that one of them was constantly pissed off at another one and she was the one that had to defuse the situation. She knew how to cope with bad attitudes and hurt feelings, it was part of the territory. It was also part of the reason she knew she could be a great doctor.
“Do they all say that? That’s refreshing,”
she countered. She knew kids who would tell you straight up that they were in it for the money. Pediatric doctors made a lot of money. They got the most clients. Kids were always being born, and they required pediatric doctors until they turned eighteen, when they were transferred to a family practice doctor. Elle was finding it easier and easier to just ignore his rudeness. It was a perpetual thing, she had discovered. No matter what expression he wore, it was usually an irritating one. She let his next comment pass. She didn’t like having words put into her mouth. She knew she didn’t think she was a saint. She in fact, felt the complete opposite. She knew who she was, even if this kid didn’t. She sighed when the aide didn’t let go of the whole ‘Saint’ thing. She tried not to lose her head again, because it would only give the guy more ammo. She ran a hand through her hair and closed her eyes for a moment, wishing she were done with this whole conversation. “Look, can we just forget about it?” She knew she was grasping at straws. This kid didn’t seem to want anything to do with being nice. He probably didn’t know what the words ‘lay off’ meant. “How about we just start over? I’m Ambrielle,” She tried. Maybe she just hadn’t gone about this the right way, she mused. Something told her that nothing would change, but she tried to push it aside. You never knew when somebody could surprise you. Optimism was sometimes rewarded generously. “I was not having a panic attack!” She insisted. Her panic attacks looked nothing like what she had been going through a few minutes ago. She flinched as he slammed the book down. Her eyes grew round, and her mouth dropped open slightly. She didn’t know how the librarian didn’t eat him alive for doing things like that. “It’s sad that you don’t even flinch at insults,” She commented. “You must have been insulted a lot.” She went on. She knew she was rambling, again. This guy probably thought she was daft. She didn’t wait for the sarcastic comment that she knew he would have before she wandered off towards the stacks. She found her section easily and took her time looking through them, if only to infuriate the aide more. It seemed like he deserved it, if nothing else. She pulled out a few books, reading the back of each of them two times before sliding them back into their spots carefully. Finally, she settled on another giant book, and pulled another one out just to be safe. It wasn’t like having three sources would hurt her any. If anything, the teacher would be impressed that she went to the extra effort. She smiled to herself, happy that her misfortune could bring about something good, even if she hadn’t seen it in the beginning. She made her way back over to the counter, glancing at the aide warily. She handed him the books and waited for him to scan them. She crossed her fingers subtly, praying that they would work. She was tired of being verbally abused by this guy. He thought that he was so much better than her, and it actually did hurt her feelings. She watched him patiently, studying his movements. She had never worked in a library, but she had checked enough books out in her lifetime to know if he was doing it correctly or not. It would make her day if she could correct the way he was scanning the books. She almost giggled at the idea, but then mentally chastised herself. She felt that she needed to be more understanding of the guy. [/blockquote] [/blockquote] • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • WORDS! like 800 xP TAGS! i'm the new cancer never looked better and you can't stand it TAG: Elle NOTES: this is late, sowwy. D: but I love Elle
Noah was growing steadily more irritated with the girl. He always got stuck with the annoying ones it seemed. Awful luck that was. The mouth-breathing geeks and occasional psychotic needy chick that 'needed' a certain book never failed to find him. Half the time the aide just wanted to slink away and hide behind the counter where no one would see him, or better yet just leave entirely. He had to work, though, however miserable is was. The doctor/saint girl wasn't making matters any easier, either. She wasn't even that hot -- well, okay, maybe that was a lie, but the aggravating personality canceled out anything positive she might have had going for her. She wasn't all that bad on the eyes, but wasn't good for much else.
Rolling his eyes yet again, Noah wondered if she was trying to set a record for the amount of ridiculous in one conversation. Evans currently held that title, but at the rate the girl was going you never know. The junior didn't even find the comment worth replying to. Why waste his breath? It was pointless. She was barely even worth his time and effort. When it came to dealing with other people, the boy thought he was above everyone else. Perhaps he wasn't as good as he thought he was, but Noah's large ego made him ignore that fact. In his mind, he was the best and should be regarded as such. Her attempt at trying to salvage the meeting only made him snort. That wasn't possible at this point.
"Well, Ambrielle," he began to sneer. Seriously, what kind of a name was that? Someone had some snobby posh-wannabe parents. "I'd say it's nice to meet you, but that would be a lie. And saints don't encourage dishonesty." He smirked at her, bringing it up again just because he knew it would bother her. Of course, the polite thing was to introduce himself back to her, but Noah was anything but polite and he disregarded any sort of social formalities. "And I'm not going to be someone you'll be on a first name basis with." Honestly, what was she expecting? That he would warm up to the first ray of kindness and become her best friend? Yeah right. It would take a little bit more than that to get past his snarky exterior.
Laughing to himself as the girl -- Arielle, was it? ah well -- denied the panic attack remark, he couldn't see why she was trying to convince him otherwise. Any attempts at that would be futile, it was way too late in the game to change his opinion. The aide was quick to judge, and those first impressions were usually the only ones he took into account. People always said 'don't judge a book by its cover' or some equally bogus moral of a fable, but then what was the freaking point of the cover? Hey, he was a library aide and could relate this back to books if he wanted to. Noah didn't see the point in trying to get to know someone if he could already tell everything he needed within the first five minutes. She was a cavity sweet goody two shoes, and even though realistically that may have been way off, to the boy it was close enough.
"That's an understatement. You have no idea," he muttered in response before watching her walk off towards the aisle. The Kappa didn't see why she would consider that sad, though. Not letting words get to him? That meant he wasn't a pansy like she was. He had barely said boo to Something-Elle and she was tearing up. Now that was sad. She was right about one thing though, he took in as many insults as he gave out. He always tried to get in the last word, and that had gotten him in a bit of trouble, but he could hold his own in a fight. Physical or otherwise. He stood a good distance back, waiting for her to get her book and go. She seemed to be taking as long as possible just to aggravate him. Any time now, seriously.
"Finally," Noah mumbled as she came back, a bigger stack of books than before. Great, more work for him. Not that being a library aide was all that difficult of a job, just boring. It required almost no skill, yet he still seemed to mess it up. Well, he would like to believe that it was the stupid computer system's fault. Scanning each cover, the junior sighed in relief as it made a quiet beep, the thing worked. Thank God. He couldn't put up with any more problems for the day. "Happy?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow and hoping that would be the end of her whining.

. { ❀ } . YOU'DFLYUPACROSSTHESKYJUST TO PROVE YOUR POINT NOW WOULDN'T YOU?• { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • { ❀ } • Elle didn’t know why, but she instinctively disliked this guy. She had a feeling that no matter what she might do, this kid would never be happy with her. She hated the thought, but she knew she probably wouldn’t ever be able to change his poor opinion of her. The look on his face told her how much of an inconvenience he thought she was. She glanced around the library, wondering what had the boy so uptight. Being in here for hours probably would get to someone, but she couldn’t see that it gave the kid any reason to take it out on someone else. He was getting paid for his work. It wasn’t like he was volunteering, and kids were purposely trying to upset him. He might have been justified in his treatment of her, if that had been the case.
When the kid rolled his eyes, Elle cringed inwardly. She hated it when people did that. It made her seem insignificant. She hated that feeling almost more than she hated feeling affronted. She came from a rather large family. She had blended into the woodwork for most of her life. College was supposed to be about standing out, and that certainly wasn’t happening now. She might have been standing out for the fact that she was nearly incompetent. She almost snorted out loud. The boy probably thought that she was the most ridiculous excuse for a female that he had ever met. She was never going to break herself of her insecurities this way. She felt raw and exposed. Above that, she felt that she was lacking. She felt that maybe if she was prettier, she might be easier to put up with.
“You make my name sound d-dirty when y-you say it that way.” She protested. She was sick of his pestering. Her nerves were beyond frayed, they were worn completely down. “I reciprocate those exact feelings. And Lord knows you’re no saint.” She scoffed. He had already displayed his lack of manners. His constant put-downs at her efforts to be nice were getting old rather quickly. If he made one more remark about her being saintly, she might just rip his pretty hair out of his head. The image her mind played over frightened her with its intensity. She hadn’t thought she was capable of such negative feelings, but she was learning things every second that she conversed with this ill-behaved aide. ”I don’t even want to know your name, you’re obviously not worth the time it would take to even listen to it.” Her eyes narrowed. It felt good to finally stand up to someone, but she was still a nervous wreck.
Ignoring his comment, she stalked off. He struck her as one of those guys who could never rest until they had decided they had won. They might have won only because the opponent was too intelligent to continue the argument, but the person still felt justified and satisfied with the victory. It was actually kind of pathetic. Those people were so sick with themselves, that they felt they needed to infect everyone else. That was exactly the type of person who disgusted Elle. There were people who deserved pity because of their living situation, and there were those that deserved it due to their past. This person deserved pity because of his attitude. It was deplorable. He was the kind of person who had to have all of the attention, even if it was bad.
Elle stood up straighter when she returned. She strained to hide a laugh at his impatience. She could have really taken her time if she had wanted to get to him. It would have been simple to take an extra half hour. She was shaking, trying to hold back the laughter that threatened to burst forth. She watched the guy intently as he checked out her books, glad when they worked. She wondered what was wrong with the one she had chosen, but she would probably never find out. ”Elated.” She replied, tongue in cheek. She was feeling even more confident by the second after her small act of defiance. She took the books from him and held them to her chest. ”I do hope you have a day fitting of your personality, Sir.” She smirked and rushed toward the door, trying her damnedest to get in the final word.

i'm the new cancer never looked better and you can't stand it TAG: Elle NOTES: finé <3
No matter how much Wynne might insist, Noah was not an idiot, nor was he oblivious. He was very much aware just how he came off. It wasn't like it was a big secret, now was it? He was dick and he knew it, and had absolutely no problem with that. Other people were the ones who seemed to get their granny panties in a knot over nothing. In his mind, he was surrounded by imbeciles and was the only one not completely out of his mind with stupidity. A deep seeded hatred towards ninety nine percent of human beings probably wasn't the most healthy feeling in the world, but the junior couldn't care less. There was no introspective psychological reasoning that would bring him some sort of epiphany. That only happened in movies. Noah simply believed he was better than everyone else, it was as simple as that.
So why not express those thoughts? The whole perfect act got real old, real quick. Plus, it was just that -- an act. There was nothing more he hated than someone who was nice. An unpopular opinion to say the least, but the boy found the whole sickly sweet deal annoying and fake. He would rather be upfront about his thoughts than sugar coating them. Unfortunately, that didn't earn Noah the highest of views by his peers, but he really couldn't care less. There was no need to value the thoughts of morons anyways. He was blunt and straightforward, and if that made him a few enemies, than so be it. The Kappa was pretty good at getting people to hate him, actually. At least he could say he was the best at something, right? Well, being the best at being hated probably wasn't the best title to have, but it was a title none the less.
"Dirty? That was nothing, though I'm sure I could up with something more that would really make you embarrassed." She had to be kidding, that was absolutely nothing. He had barely even started, and Lord knows if she wanted dirty remarks he had plenty of those. A part of him wanted to see Saint-Girl's reaction to some of those, but the slight conscious and common sense he did have stopped him. "I know I'm not," Noah replied, his lips twisting into a class smirk. "The thing is, I don't bother pretending." He wasn't some goody two-shoes that fed the homeless and saved diseased children. No one could be that perfect. Seriously, who did this girl think she was, Gandhi? In a few years she'd just be like everyone else, probably dropping out of medical school because it was too much pressure. She could barely handle checking out a book, after all. Pessimism was a wonderful thing, as Something-Elle would soon find out about him.
"You think that offends me, don't you? The less I have to do with you the better, honestly." She thought that telling him he wasn't worth it would phase him. Yeah right. Not wanting to know his name wasn't a bad thing, he found it good. If only she could drop the conversation entirely and just get out, that would be the best thing yet. Finally she seemed to get the point that Noah was not here for polite conversation and no matter how hard she tried to shove her innocent school girl cock down his throat, he wasn't going to be converted. He ground his teeth at her her sarcastic response, choosing to ignore it. Her last comment couldn't be brushed off as easily, though. A day to match his attitude, how clever. More like mediocre.
"Awesome, then I'll be having a fucking fantastic day!" he called out after her, momentarily choosing to forget the fact that they were still in the library. He had pretty much blown the no talking rule by cursing half way across the room. The librarian and almost all of the occupants turned to glare at him, and he only grumbled and stomped off in the other direction to go shelve some bloody books, muttering under his breath all the way.
when did he get all confident?
