One would think that attending the same university as his sibling would make it easy to get in contact with her. That would only make sense, right? It wasn't like they were miles apart or anything, it should be simple. Theoretically, that should be the case, but Seb had spent the better part of that day trying to get a hold of his sister. Calling Issy hadn't worked and neither had seeking out any of her friends and asking if they had seen the girl. It was like she had decided to disappear off of the face of the earth for an afternoon. Not patient enough to wait around anymore, the sophomore settled on simply showing up on her doorstep. It had been too long since he had last seen her anyhow. Growing up together and being so close even during high school made college seem like an entirely different world. For years he hadn't been without his sister by his side for more than a day or two at a time. Well, there was that stupid basketball camp one summer that had him gone for a week, but that was the extent of it. They were practically inseparable, and college was supposed to be one more thing they did together. Even though they were both at Litton-Colwell, the twins seemed to have gotten wrapped up in their own lives. He had classes and Omega events to deal with, and whenever he did have spare time, Issy was off doing her own thing as well. They were slowly drifting into their own circles. Sebastian wasn't sure if he was happy about that or not. He had to make his own identity sooner or later and so did she, but he wasn't sure if he was quite ready for that. It was a scary idea. Of course they would always be close, but this year wasn't quite the same as all the ones previously. Walking along Greek Row, he spotted the familiar house of Alpha Beta Phi. He had been to the place a time or two before, mainly just to help his sister move everything in. Most people knew she had a twin, Seb was forever in the role of Issy's twin brother. He knew a few of the other members, but still didn't feel quite right being there. Hesitantly walking in behind two other girls, Seb felt a little out of place, but didn't worry about it much. He walked up the stairs to where he remembered Issy's room to be, the Omega lightly knocking before stepping inside. "Hey stranger," Seb greeted, flashing her a grin before flopping down on her bed. Remembering the whole reason he was here in the first place, the boy dug into his pockets and pulled out the envelope that he had already opened. "Mom sent this," he said, casually handing the letter over - the woman apparently didn't believe in email. Issy probably wouldn't be thrilled to read it, there was quite a few mentions of 'keep up your studies' and 'don't attend a party I wouldn't approve of'. The holidays had barely passed and she was already checking up on them. He wished she had been half of observant when the two of them had been kids, but now their mother seemed to have taken a keen interest in making sure Issy was doing what she expected her to. Sebastian was a bit of a momma's boy and was glad to hear from her, but then came the stern reminder to make sure the Alpha was doing everything she needed to. More often than not, he was taking up responsibility for his sister. Being across the country from their parents, Seb was expected to step into that role. He loved Issy, but couldn't she take care of herself by now? Their mother and father didn't seem to think so. "I don't know about you, but this is as good of a time as ever to catch up." He had shown up without notice, yes, but didn't think he needed an excuse to see her or plan out a time in advance. Even a few days without talking to Isabelle felt like ages, and the sophomore was progressively feeling more and more out of the loop. He leaned back farther, stretching out. Come the weekend Seb was sure that a group would be going out to one of the clubs, and he might not be quite as outgoing as Issy, but he enjoyed parties too. [Isabelle! - lots of words - sorry for the poor starter. Dx - thanks brooklyn] |

The peaceful little world that Issy was in was suddenly interrupted by the weight of another body on her bed. The reality that she was now awake soon set in and so did the aftermath of her three day bender. Isabelle didn't even bother to check who had so rudely awoken her instead pulling her covers further over her head and squeezing her blue eyes shut even tighter. Waking Issy up was like setting Satan loose. It was common knowledge that Isabelle partied hard which meant when she finally did crash, she crashed hard. A child like groan escaped her lips as she heard the familiar voice and finally realized that her hours of slumber were officially coming to an end.
The voice of Sebastian Vanleer filled the room and was like nails in her ears. Ever so slowly she maneuvered her body to face him and slowly let her head emerge from beneath the covers. Eyes fluttered open, the light instantly making her feel a billion times worse. She pushed her dark blonde locks out of her face, completely unaware that she probably looked like road kill. If the makeup smudges on her pillow were any indication of how her face looked, she was in pretty bad shape. Her body ached, her head ached and she had no memory of the night before. Another groan escaped her mouth and she made eye contact with her twin. "Seb! You woke me up" she whined, glaring at him with intensity. It was kind of hard to be mad at him though. Despite their differences, Seb was the most important person in Isabelle's life and it was always nice to see him.
Since the pair had started college things had changed for the both of them. They'd lived in the same house for their entire lives, hardly ever separating. Now they were in different houses, different classes with not much else but love and parties to bring them together. Issy didn't want to drift apart from her brother but it wasn't until she saw him that she realized how little time they spent together. It was becoming rare for them to spend a sober moment alone these days. It was rare to catch Isabelle sober anytime actually. College was about partying for this little miss. While Seb could be a goody two shoes and keep mommy and daddy happy, she was going to enjoy her youth. It wasn't like she had a head for academics anyway.
She finally sat up, pulling her covers over her bare legs and gave her brother a cuddle, squeezing his frame as tightly as possible. Issy really had missed him and despite the terrible hangover she was feeling it would be nice to hang out. "Morning Sebby boo" she finally greeted him with a yawn. The light and noise outside made it pretty clear that morning was long gone but Isabelle worked by her schedule not everyone elses. Her face fell as soon Seb produced a letter from their mother Trust Seb to do their mothers bidding for her. Issy took hold of the letter and scrunched it up in her hand before even reading it. There was no point, she knew exactly what it would say. Be good, don't make us look stupid, try to keep your clothes on. She'd been hearing it since she was fifteen and yet nothing had changed. She still did what she wanted and her mother still tried to control her. "A letter? God, she's starting to show her age. A phone call would have killed her?" Issy rolled her eyes and she tossed the letter across her room, missing her bin completely. It was a little hypocritical, it wasn't like Issy's phone had been on for the last few days.
Just the thought of her mother made her head pound even more. The woman just had that effect on her. She was seriously worse than algebra and chemistry combined. Forgetting the fact that Seb would probably be the one to blame for Issy ignoring her mothers words, she was more concerned with getting rid of her pain so she could actually spend some time with her other half. She reached across Seb to her bedside table and grabbed two aspirins and a bottle of orange juice that she had no recollection o having in her room. Popping the pills in her mouth she took a huge gulp of juice, her taste buds quickly realizing that her juice had an unusual amount of vodka in it. It didn't even deter her a little however, she'd probably been drinking it when she arrived home the night before. Down the hatch and a little hair of the dog and Issy already felt a little better. Closing the bottle she left it on her bed and listened to her brother. "I haven't seen you in forever" she pouted, over exaggerating just the tiniest bit. When you were used to being around someone all the time, even a day apart felt like a life time. "What's news anyway? Studying had I assume" she asked, stretching her arms above her head with yet another yawn. To be honest she'd rather talk about him because she wasn't risking a lecture until either the aspirin or the vodka kicked in. 892, outfit, no it was great! <3 |

Seb laughed at his sister's exclamation. She never was a morning person, never had been. He smirked as she glared at him, but knew the girl couldn't stay mad at him for too long. They had their differences, that was a given. Even though they were twins didn't mean they agreed and saw eye to eye on everything. However, for the most part they were able to overcome any arguments. The Omega could never be upset with Isabelle for too long, and he knew the same was true vice versa. It might not always be picture perfect, but the two of them were family and Seb wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. "Morning," he replied, grimacing at the nickname she addressed him by, but tolerating it none the less. "Though by all technicalities it's not morning anymore." The boy smirked in her direction, she looked a bit of a mess and he could only imagine where she had been off last night. The sophomore could tell she was hungover, but it wasn't like that was a new idea. Issy liked going out and having a good time, that was for sure - much to their mother's chagrin. "You can't hang up on a letter," Seb teased. The woman had been telling them the same things over and over again, for years it seemed. He got the message loud and clear. His sister, not so much. Nothing changed no matter how much their mother tried. She may not be able to ignore the letter or hang on up like she often did while talking on that phone, but Isabelle still managed to toss it. Of course, he would be the one that would have to answer to their parents later about all that. Trying to ignore that and not fight with her about it, Seb stretched out a bit more and let out a yawn. "Forever, I know."He smiled slightly at the exaggeration, but it did feel that way. He was used to seeing her all the time though now they were both so busy. It seemed like the time Seb was caught up with classes or his friends outweighed that he spent with Issy. He didn't want to admit that they were drifting apart... it was just a rough patch, the boy kept assuring himself. The pressure from their mother didn't help much. Well, he was fine with it, but she wasn't. Which was the main root of their troubles. "Yeah, studying like you should be," he commented. Issy didn't want to hear, especially from him, but Seb found it his responsibility to at least try to get her to put a little bit more effort into her classes. He didn't want to push it, though, not now, so quickly changed the subject. "Things are honestly pretty boring on my end, nothing you would find interesting. I'm sure your life is just as thrilling as ever?" he questioned with a grin. [Isabelle! - lots of words - so late! i've been caught up with school lately, sorry - thanks brooklyn] |
