emmy is a sophomore at litton-colwell university, and aside from volunteering at local charities and offering free fashion advice, she is otherwise unemployed. emmy came into the world on the seventeenth of September, twenty years ago. And although her birth certificate reads; dorothy marie emmerson, she hasn't been called that since she was old enough to speak. over her dead body will anyone ever find out that her first name is so hideous.
emmy prides herself on her appearance, though the blonde hair, blue eyes, and gentle features she thanks God for daily, make it relatively easy to meet the expectations she sets for herself. aside from having her ears pierced, emmy's skin is unmarked by scarring, tattoos, or anything else that would take away from her natural beauty.
emmy is a genuinely sweet girl, though she comes off as a bit self-centered, vain, and shallow at times. any hurt feelings she causes, or feathers she ruffles are typically unintentional. she is just so wrapped up in herself at times, that she forgets other people have feelings too. she showers said victims in apologies and grovelling once she realizes she's upset them. she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, and her own feelings are easily wounded.
- sweet::emmy tries her hardest to be nice to everyone, to speak kind words, and to make others happy. she knows she has the tendency to put her foot in her mouth, so she goes out of her way to please people, hoping to counteract some of the things she does that inadvertently hurt someone's feelings.
- spoiled:: emmy doesn't know what it's like to go without, she has been well to do her entire life, and treated like a princess by both parents. and although she does donate the majority of her time to charities and helping others, she does make sure to take care of herself first. she may not have been such a giving individual had she not been blessed with so much to give.
- vain: emmy is a beautiful girl, and she knows it. she grew up her entire life being told how cute, pretty, gorgeous, etc, she was. and nine times out of ten she gets what she wants through her appearance alone. this has greatly impacted her overall personality. she's the girl who probably doesn't need makeup and the best clothes, but she has convinced herself that she does, and she is never found without either. she is constantly primping and going to the salon, as well as commenting how good she looks any given day. this sometimes puts people off, but you just have to understand that she doesn't try to make others feel less attractive by pointing out her own good looks, it's just how she was raised, and it will likely never change.
Family:
- mother: lillith clare emmerson, 42, former model.
- father: joseph douglas emmerson, 56, senior partner of D&E law firm in New York City, New York.
- sister: vivienne jean emmerson, 17, high school student.
emmy's birth father, or sperm donor as she refers to him, has never been a part of her life. he impregnated her mother when she was 22 years old and on her way to becoming a household name in the modelling industry. lillith refused to give her child his last name, so emmy lived out the first year of her life as dorothy clairefield II.
emmy's grandmother, whom she is named after, was a well known author and socialite in New York City, and when her only daughter got pregnant, it was all over the tabloids. emmy's grandmother helped to raise her during the first three years of her life. at which time, emmy's mother met her step-father; joe emmerson. the two wed almost immediately, and joe adopted emmy. which set off another flow of tabloid attention.
"former model, lillith clairefield, daughter of dorothy clairefield, marries the city's top personal injury lawyer; joeseph emmerson. the question on everyone's mind? love or money?" joe and lillith didn't pay any attention, but over the years emmy has grown fiery over the topic of the accusations against her mother, always feeling like she needs to defend herself and her family.
shortly after getting married, lillith became pregnant with another child, a girl who they named vivienne. emmy and vivi were like two peas in a pod growing up, and even the typical sibling rivalries and bickering were slim to none between them. the girls lived privileged lives, with both sides of their family well off, and they both were spoiled beyond belief. while they are both a tad vain, and self centered, their being spoiled effected their personalities in two completely different ways. vivi is extremely rude and goes out of her way to hurt people, emmy is just selfish by nature and after seeing the way her sister causes heartache everywhere she goes, emmy attempts to be as sweet as humanly possible.
her sophomore year in high school, emmy met a junior named cameron richards. the two had crossed paths a few times at various events, as cam's parents were socialites like emmy's. however, they attended a very large school and being of different years, they never saw each other during her first year of high school. however, during her second year, they had physical education and a free period in common, as well as lunch. the two got to talking, and flirting, and became inseparable. high school sweethearts, puppy love, whatever other cheesy title their mothers could come up with.
after cam graduated from high school, and joined a fraternity, he started becoming more and more of... well, an ass hole. emmy would catch wind of him drinking and hitting on other girls, even getting the occasional number. she was hurt, and suspicious, but she trusted him all the same and he continuously calmed her fears, chalking it up to "just trying to fit in." this went on his entire freshman year at litton-colwell. they stayed together, and emmy chose to attend university there as well, but she was appalled to find out that his constant flirting had never stopped, there were even rumors he had been locking lips with various upperclassmen. finally, she gave him an ultimatum, and he didn't choose her. he assumed she would crumble and come crawling back within days, but she didn't. since then, he has been very hostile towards her, and she let's it effect her because he still holds a large piece of her heart.
emmy is trying to move on, throwing herself into her duties as the social chair of her sorority, volunteering at all the local charities, visiting her sister in New York as often as she can, taking a heavy workload this semester, and of course self-soothing with loads of on line and in-person shopping.
hey, so i'm FAY. i've been roleplaying for over a decade now. you can reach me by pm/AIM (ohheyitsfay) if you need me for anything. i found HAZED AND CONFUSED by trolling through sites, with Kasey. We chose it because it's so pretty, in case you were curious. and i'm pretty glad i did. here's an example of mah skillz. (:8:46... 8:49... 8:50... 8:56... "Darn you, clock. You mock me. You and your ticking." Willow furrowed her brow, speaking to the inanimate object, as if her words would somehow compel the hand to move faster. She rose to her feet, not able to stay still for a moment longer. She paced back and forth slowly across the large dorm room, which was originally meant to house two people, but was now just a space all her own, with a desk, ginormous oak bookshelf and locked cabinet, filled with all of her witchy necessities. She tugged her shirt, wondering if maybe she should change again, but before she could make it to the closet, there was a soft knock at the door.
Willow's head whipped in the direction of the noise, with a flash of red hair and an intake of breath, she stared at the solid oak that separated her from the man she so desired. She'd been waiting for this moment, anticipating it all day, and even more so; for the past 4 months. She had to remind herself to breathe, to move her feet, and before she knew it she was pulling the door open, and there he was. Oz. His stony expression warmed by a slight smile, his smaller than average frame defined by understated muscles, and his eyes. Those eyes. Soft and warm, telling you all you needed to know with just a look. Maybe that was why Oz didn't need to speak much, his gaze voiced volumes.
It felt as though she was seeing the scene from outside her body, like she was looking down at herself from above. Her face was pale, the blood drained, most likely flooding her heart with an increased pulse. Her hands shook as they still clutched the brass door knob, her own eyes portraying all the emotions she'd felt in the past year. Love, lust, loyalty, followed by fear, confusion, pain, betrayal, and abandonment.
How was it that he appeared so calm? Just standing there, a few paces away, with a perfectly even expression and relaxed demeanor. Was he that good at hiding his emotions? "Oz." It was all she could manage, side-stepping and gesturing for him to come into her room, closing the door behind him. "What.. Why.. Um.." She paused, steadying herself with a deep breath. "You came back."
There was so much more she wanted to say. So much she needed to know. There was just, so much. Yet, there they stood. Only but a few words spoken, each unsure of what the other was thinking, feeling, planning. Would they hug? Should they hug? Would it be weird to ask him to sit on the bed with her? She wasn't sure what he was expecting, what he wanted. Hell, she wasn't even sure what she wanted.
"I-I guess I don't know what to say. This is just, is this even real? I feel like this isn't really happening. Like in a few hours I'll wake up, and you'll still be... Wherever it is you've been for the last 4 months."
