Jill Rumming was born on the 5th of May 1972, making her just one year less than the big four-oh. You wouldn’t really think it looking at her, though, because she’s much fitter than most girls half her age. Jill keeps herself nice, wearing professional business woman type clothes (pretty blouses, trousers…and even the occasional skirt) while she teaches English at LCU. Her short blonde hair is always well kempt, and while she wears make-up, it’s definitely a ~natural~ look. Jill keeps it muted to keep it professional…because she is very professional.
personality
Dominant
Jill won’t be taking any of your shit! Especially if you have a penis! She is a strong, independent woman! She’s smart and sexy and, clearly, her place is at the top of the heap. If you want to challenge her for dominance in a relationship, go for it…but don’t expect her to place nice, or particularly clean. Jill isn’t a physical person (she’s a bit too willowy for that) but she will let loose a stream of fierce words perfectly tailored for her opponent’s weak spots…which she is rather good at seeing.
Blunt
If Jill has something to say to you, she will likely say it. She isn’t one for preserving feelings in the place of honesty. Such a direct way of speaking might also be a result of the mean streak that she has developed over the years. Unless it will particularly benefit her, don’t expect tact or charm from this woman – she feels that she is past that in her life, not particularly satisfied with the results of those two ways of behaving.
Self-assured.
Jill is very comfortable in her own skin. You wouldn’t be able to undermine her if you wanted to. Of course, she works for this confidence. The woman is a near OCD runner, and spends a lot of time at the gym. She has a strict and almost pleasureless diet which borders on vegan, and that is just her measures to deal with body image! Of course, for a woman, body image is nearly everything. Having spent much of her youth in an industry that was all about body and beauty, Jill does derive much of her confidence from how she looks. Sticking to what she is good at in her academic endeavours, however, helps with other areas, too.
Perceptive
Jill likes to watch people. She watches what they do and how they react to any and everything. She files these little bits of information away, and keeps them for future referene. This observance also means that she sees a lot. So whatever you’re up to, it is likely that Jill is onto you. She herself has had to be sneaky in a past life, so she knows all the tricks. She’s also suspicious of people who seem overly charming, nice or sweet, because most of the time (in her experience) it is fake; a mere means to an end. Again, this is an old technique that she herself had employed in her time as a model.
Judgemental
This goes along with being suspicious of most people and having trust issues. Jill will form an opinion on people, based on what they are and how they act…and it probably won’t change. She’s a woman who makes snap decisions, and that includes how she perceives people. Her mind isn’t particularly open and…well, that can make her a bit rigid, too. But, again, she’s past the stage in her life where she’ll change herself for other people. Jill is a woman living for her own benefit.
…most of the time. Her daughter is a different matter entirely.
history
Jill’s life growing up was mundane. Unlike most of the students she teaches, she grew up in a middle class family with two working parents. They took vacations to a lake at a national park and never got much more exciting than that. Scandal didn’t exist in her average nuclear family. SHE was the one to cause the biggest scandal when she was all grown up and modelling for a living.
Not that Jill particularly wanted to be a model. She’d always wanted to be a journalist; writing hard hitting stories and changing the way that people saw the world. The only problem was that she wasn’t particularly good. School and college had taught her how to write, and how to know what was good…but when it came to producing it herself…she rather failed. Try though she might, she couldn’t get herself published, or get any sort of work.
Her first real job came during (yet another) internship at a magazine…but it wasn’t to write…it was to model. Not the work that she wanted…but if they wanted her face and her long, long legs and lithe body…for quite a bit of money…who was she to say no?
The fact that it was a…uh…gentleman’s magazine was just something that she had to accept.
After that Jill’s life became a rollercoaster of camera flashes, different poses and…not a lot of clothing. For a while, anyway. It wasn’t long before she caught the attention of an up and coming photographer, who dragged her out of the mire of being essentially a play-boy bunny without the mansion or the repute, and into a slightly more appealing career. NATURALLY it was only a matter of time before they fell ~in love~ (come on, two attractive artists in the prime of their life, what else was going to happen?) and got married.
Before too long Jill fell pregnant, and retired from modelling to look after her daughter. When the girl started school, she decided that she didn’t want to be a housewife anymore and took up teaching. LCU isn’t her first teaching gig, but it’s the one that she’s been most comfortable in, and doesn’t intend to leave.
Now, this is all a very lovely story, what with the finding herself and having a loving husband and child…but that’s not all of it. It turns out that for the entirety of their marriage (something that the usually observant Jill rues to this day) her husband had been having some…interesting…affairs. But one day a couple of weeks ago Jill arrived home a couple of hours ahead of schedule (curious, but no unheard of, for her) to find her husband in bed with another man.
A rather young man.
Husband was kicked out of the house before he could even pull his pants on.
The divorce papers were signed very soon after that.
So now Jill is…keeping things together…and sorting out the changes in her life.
